A hotel visit needs more than an appliance total. Which bedrooms will be available? Who can release rooms? When can reception equipment or a kitchen appliance be switched off? Agreeing these details helps reduce avoidable interruptions.
Tell us about fixed equipment, difficult access or appliances that must remain running so we can confirm the scope before the visit. Guest-owned belongings are not automatically included.
Detachable mains leads are separate test items. For example, a mains-powered television with a removable mains lead is two items. Our appliance counting guide helps you prepare a more useful estimate.

Testing can be planned around the rooms and areas you make available. Tell us about occupancy, check-out times and room-release procedures. We will agree access and any required interruptions with your contact; equipment cannot always stay in use during testing.
There is no universal annual PAT testing rule. A bedroom lamp, a frequently moved vacuum cleaner and kitchen equipment can need different maintenance arrangements. Set inspection and testing intervals from the equipment, conditions and previous results. See our frequency guide.
A microwave leakage test is an additional test, separate from the appliance’s electrical test, and costs £4.50 excluding VAT. Include the microwave in your appliance count and select the additional leakage test if required.
Agree your venue’s equipment-safety and access requirements with each contractor before arrival. Tell us if you want their equipment included in the visit; it is not automatically part of the hotel’s appliance list.
Itemised digital results identify the equipment inspected or tested and the recorded outcomes. Use them to follow up failures and maintain your equipment register. Read what your PAT report tells you.

** While performing testing our engineers will perform minor remedials to failed equipment if possible to ensure any disruptions to the business are minimised. Any minor appliance rewires and replacement of damaged plugs will be rectified and applied to the invoice. Any more extensive repairable issues will be reported to the responsible persons of the business and repair price agreed before a repair takes place. If an appliance is unrepairable on site it will be taken out of service.
