What Is Included in Your PAT Testing Price?

The cost of PAT testing should cover more than simply placing a pass or fail label on an appliance. At AiO Pro PAT Testing, our service includes clear digital records of the appliances inspected and tested, giving your business documentation to support its electrical safety management.

Following your PAT testing, you receive:

    • Itemised test results showing the appliances tested and their results.
    • Digital PAT testing certification for your business records.
    • Clear appliance identification and labelling following inspection and testing.
    • Recorded test information to help identify and manage electrical equipment over time.
    • Online access to your PAT testing records through our customer portal.

These records are included as part of our PAT testing service, helping businesses maintain clear, accessible documentation without unexpected reporting charges.

Why the Cheapest PAT Testing Quote Isn't Always the Best Value

When comparing PAT testing prices, it is important to understand exactly what is included in the quotation. A low price per appliance may look attractive, but the overall cost and level of service can vary considerably between providers.

What to Compare When Looking at PAT Testing Prices

Before choosing a PAT testing company, check whether the quoted price includes:

    • Visual inspection: Checking the appliance, plug, cable and other accessible components for signs of damage or deterioration.
    • Appropriate electrical testing: Testing carried out according to the appliance type and equipment requirements.
    • Appliance labelling: Clear identification of inspected and tested equipment.
    • Itemised test results: A record of the equipment tested and the results obtained.
    • Digital certification: Documentation for your business records following completion.
    • Reporting of failed equipment: Clear information about appliances requiring attention.
    • Additional charges: Check for attendance fees, certification charges or other costs that may not be included in the advertised price.

Compare the Complete Service, Not Just the Price Per Item

For businesses with hundreds or thousands of appliances, even a small difference in the advertised price per item can appear significant. However, the most useful comparison is the total quotation and exactly what is included for that price.

At AiO Pro PAT Testing, we provide clear pricing before testing begins so businesses can understand the expected cost and the service included.

If you already have a PAT testing quotation, send it to us and we can provide a comparable quotation based on your requirements.

PAT Testing and the Electricity at Work Regulations

Businesses have a responsibility to maintain electrical equipment so that it remains safe to use. PAT testing can form part of a business's approach to managing the safety and maintenance of portable electrical equipment.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require electrical systems to be maintained, so far as is reasonably practicable, to prevent danger. The regulations do not specify that every appliance must undergo PAT testing annually or at another fixed interval.

A suitable programme of inspection and testing can help businesses:

    • Identify damage and deterioration: Visual inspection can identify issues such as damaged plugs, cables, casings and other visible defects.
    • Identify electrical faults: Appropriate electrical testing can help identify faults that may not be apparent from visual inspection alone.
    • Maintain useful records: Itemised results provide businesses with a record of equipment inspected and tested.
    • Manage future testing: Previous results, equipment type, use and working environment can help inform an appropriate inspection and testing programme.

At AiO Pro PAT Testing, our commercial PAT testing service combines visual inspection, appropriate electrical testing, appliance identification and digital reporting to help businesses manage electrical equipment safety effectively.
